Sales of the European Airbus A300 have now reached
110 aircraft to 18 airlines, with 53 further options.
This successful short to medium range wide bodied
aircraft carries 300 passengers over continental
ranges and is powered by two General Electric CF6-
SOC2 fan engines giving a quiet economic operation.
The aircraft is assembled at Toulouse from parts
supplied from Britain, Germany, France, Holland and
Spain, and British Aerospace are responsible for the
design and production of the wing. The aircraft
first entered service with Air France in May 1974
and is now in regular airline operation throughout
much of the world.
